Bonsai is a payment institution licensed by the National Bank of Belgium. Hopefully that’s an immediate guarantee that our app meets all the standards of security for your business account, data and revenue. If not, find out more here.
Every time a customer pays, a notification will pop up in both the merchant and the shopper’s  bonsai app once it has gone through successfully. In your account, you’ll also find a transaction history where you can consult all the payments that have been made.

As soon as the customer has gone through the step with the PIN, Face ID or Touch ID in the bonsai app - and you also see the confirmation on your device, you can be sure that the payment has gone through. The payment is automatically processed the next business day and in most cases the money will be in your account the same day. With some banks this takes a little longer and you will only receive the money in your account after 2 days. You will also experience delays on bank closure days.
As a salesperson there is no limit to the amounts that can be received, unless your bank has imposed this limit itself.
You can easily add, change or remove employees in the app via settings – my cashiers.
For transactions of €5 or less, we charge €0.02 per transaction. For transactions over €5, we deduct €0.06 per transaction.
We don’t charge for anything else. No hidden startup or subscription costs. Nothing.
We never charge for a failed payment. We only charge costs for successful ones.
Bonsai is a completely free means of payment for the customer.
